Technogym selected as Official Supplier for sixth time
Technogym signs exclusive-supplier contract for world’s first South American Olympic Games
Technogym is pleased to announce that it will be the exclusive fitness equipment supplier at all athletic preparation centers at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. 2016 marks the sixth time Technogym has been selected as an official supplier for the Games, the brand was also the exclusive fitness equipment supplier for the London Games in 2012, Beijing in 2008, Turin in 2006, Athens in 2004 and Sydney in 2000.
In Rio, Technogym will support Olympic athletes including Technogym Brand Ambassador Sanya Richards-Ross – American 5-time Olympic medalist and one of the most decorated female track and field Olympians of all time – by supplying a full range of equipment to the Olympic Village’s main training center, a 21,527-square-foot facility located in Barra da Tijuca. Technogym will also outfit fifteen competition venues and warm up areas with fitness and training equipment tailored to the specific needs of athletes preparing for events at the aquatics center, the Olympic golf course and the tennis center, amongst other locations.
Around 1000 pieces of Technogym’s training equipment will be made available to the athletes, and each will be fully integrated with the mywellness cloud digital platform. The mywellness cloud enables athletes to stay connected to their own personal training programs directly on the equipment itself and via their mobile devices.
In the gym areas, athletes will find cutting-edge solutions including the new SKILLMILLTM, the only non-motorized functional training product designed for Athletic Performance Training that combines power, speed, stamina and agility exercises in one solution.
Athletes will also be able to train on Technogym’s Excite line products, a complete range of cardiovascular equipment (treadmills, exercise bikes, cross-trainers) featuring UNITYTM, the company’s latest generation Android interface, designed to ensure an intuitive, engaging and personalized workout experience.
Kinesis, with Technogym’s patented technology, will also be made available to athletes, allowing them to explore the freedom of 360° movement to accomplish exercises aimed at improving balance, flexibility and posture; as well as a complete set of products for strength and power training.
50 professional Technogym athletic trainers will also be onsite in Rio to support the athletes and all related services (gym layout, installation and technical services).
“We are very proud to have been chosen for the sixth time as the official supplier of the Olympic Games. This important achievement represents a victory for the whole Technogym team and a strong validation of our products, innovation and quality standards”, said Nerio Alessandri, President and Founder of Technogym. “Rio 2016 will also represent a unique social opportunity to promote wellness in Brazil and across Latin America and to get an increasing number of people interested in regular physical exercise”.
